In 2021 the Department for Education selected Twyford CofE High School to be one of 87 Teaching School Hubs being rolled out across the country to provide every school in England with access to a local centre of excellence for teacher training and development. The hubs will provide teachers with best-practice and expert advice on how best to engage with pupils, lesson planning, and classroom management as well as offering high-quality evidence-based professional development to teachers and leaders at all stages of their career and play a key role in helping to build up trainee teachers as they enter the workforce.
Teach West London is the Teaching School Hub for both primary and secondary schools across North West London covering the boroughs of Ealing, Harrow, Hillingdon and Hounslow ensuring that the 329 schools in this area have access to expert teacher training and development including:
- Initial Teacher Training (ITT)
- The Early Career Framework (ECF)
- An Appropriate Body Service (AB)
- Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
- National Professional Qualifications (NPQs) for Middle and Senior leaders
In addition, Twyford will give schools in all four boroughs opportunities to share good practice and promote collaboration.
Twyford CofE Academies Trust directors recognise this as a strong endorsement of the work which has been done across the four Trust schools for staff development as well as the lead role of Twyford within the Ealing Teaching School Alliance for many years.
