The Twyford CofE Academies Trust is proud to be a founding partner of the Centre for Multi School Effectiveness, a new group focussed on evaluating what drives school improvement in a family of schools.

Set up by the Confederation of School Trusts and announced at their national conference yesterday, the new Centre for Multi School Effectiveness builds on existing research and will look specifically at how groups of schools can help improve education.

Twyford CofE Academies Trust is one of the 21 programme partners ranging from larger to smaller multi-academy trusts, covering all regions of England, different faiths, special schools and alternative provision.

CEO Dame Alice Hudson commented “The Twyford Trust is very proud of its outcomes – in particular the progress of disadvantaged students – and we are confident that the schools have grown stronger over time through open collaboration. We are delighted to put our ‘collective effervescence’ under a magnifying class in order to support a wider network of schools.”

The aims of the centre align with the trust’s outreach goals through Teach West London teaching school hub and other RISE projects in that the outputs and activity of the Centre are for the whole sector, not just the trusts involved.

CST Deputy Chief Executive Steve Rollett said “The Centre’s aim is to connect practice in our schools, and in schools internationally, with evidence of how that can be effective in not just one school, but across many, and share that so that everyone can benefit.”
